They are either stabilized or reconstituted. *Reconstituted turquoise: Reconstituted turquoise beads are made from natural turquoise stones that are crushed to powder and reconstituted (with polymer glue) to beads. *Stabilized turquoise: Natural, mined turquoise nuggets are heated at a very low temperature for about a week, slowly drawing out moisture without damaging the texture.
